Sharing stories, strengthening connections and supporting one another
On Monday, 14 September 2026, around 20 men, along with some of their younger male family members, came together at the Bidyadanga Men’s Centre. The group came together to enjoy an evening of sharing a meal, having a yarn and spending time together.
The Men’s Dinner provided an important opportunity for the men in our community to connect, strengthen relationships and support one another in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Gatherings like these continue to play a valuable role in bringing men together and creating space for conversation, cultural sharing and mutual support.
It was especially encouraging to see older community members sharing stories, knowledge and experiences with the younger generation. These moments help strengthen connections across generations and ensure cultural knowledge, values and community spirit continue to be passed on.
With several Sorry Camps currently taking place within the community, some planned activities and events may need to be postponed or adapted at short notice. Despite this, the strong turnout at the Men’s Dinner highlighted the importance of staying connected and supporting one another during significant times for families and the wider community.
BACLGI thanks everyone who attended and helped make the evening a success, and looks forward to continuing opportunities for men and families to come together in the future.
