The population of the Community has a high percentage of younger residents between the ages of 12 and 25 years. The community has placed a high priority on developing resources to meet the needs of young people, recognising that the future of the community is dependent on the youth of today who will become the leaders of tomorrow.
There is a Swimming Pool complex which provides a safe, supervised environment where children and young people can meet and participate in a range of recreational and leisure activities that address a range of social issues.
Medical services are provided through a Clinic offering primary health care.
Elderly members are supported with a day-centre and limited array of daytime activities along with meals on wheels.
The Bidyadanga Art Centre is a hub for artists to develop their skills and access support to create and sell art works. With funding from Commonwealth and State governments, along with support from Rio Tinto, we have seen the art centre flourish recently. Bidyadanga artists are exhibiting their work at events within WA and interstate. It is an exciting time for the artists.
