The population of the Community has a high percentage of younger residents between the ages of 12 and 25 years. The community has placed a high priority on developing resources to meet the needs of young people recognising that the future of the community is dependent on the youth of today who will become the leaders of tomorrow.
The Youth Centre and Swimming Pool complex provides a safe and supervised environment and helps establish the "Getting Youth Strong" program by offering a range of resources, facilities and positive lifestyle options, where children and young people can meet and participate in a range of recreational and leisure activities to address a range of social issues.
The Community is well serviced with a large Clinic ("C" Grade Hospital) offering ancillary health services, aged care centre offering multi-residential accommodation, Centrelink agency, library, women's centre and a wide range of sporting and recreational facilities.
The Bidyadanga Art and Culture Centre is planned and construction will commence once site and land use issues are been resolved and State or Commonwealth Government funding has been secured
